The acquisition of aki will offer an increase in production capacity, an increase in know-how and will also foster a geographical expansion of Schurter's activities in Eastern Europe.
Since 1992, aki electronic based in Jihlava, has been producing high-quality input devices for industrial applications, automation industries and medical appliances, it has 200 employees.
The Czech manufacturer is active in the core market of Germany/Austria as well as in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. aki has been ISO 9001 certified since 1998, and operates under ISO 13485 (Medical Standard) since 2015, which will directly benefit Schurter's operations. In 2015, the company had consolidated sales of around EUR 9 million.
