“The department had set a target of over 80 schools for achieving the International Organization of Standardization ISO certification 9001:2015 earlier this year, out of which over 30 schools have so far succeeded to meet all criteria,” he said.
Chougule added that ISO certification is important considering the fact that the ZP-operated schools have to directly compete with private schools these days. “The marketing campaign for schools has played an important role for the progress of the schools,” he said.
“On the day of Gudipadwa, we organise Shala Pravesh Vadhva (increase school admissions) campaign across all villages in the district. This helps us in completing around 70% of our admission quota for primary schools,” said Chougule.
He added that the Gudipadwa drive is part of both awareness campaign and the survey to find potential students of pre-primary and primary education groups across rural and remote areas of the district.
